Girls Division: NGA Lady Tigers

The NGA Lady Tigers were among the top of the standings throughout the duration of the LPYBL Spring season. They finished with a regular season record of 7-2, which landed them in second place behind the ATL Cagers who finished 7-1; both of the Tiger’s losses during the season were from the Cagers.

The Lady Tigers took a #2 seed into the Playoffs, which set a match up between them and the #3 seeded Warriors. The game was an all-out battle! The Lady eventually ran away with it at the end with a 6-point victory, they were led by Alexia Henderson with 13 points.

The Championship game would feature yet another match up against the Cagers (who have beat the two of there three regular season meetings). The key to beating the Cagers was to stop their best player, Claire Davis. Although they couldn’t totally stop her (Claire finished with 15 points) the Lady Tigers were able to slow her down which let them control most of the game. The final score was 48-33. The Lady Tigers finished the season with a total record of 9-2 and can proudly say they are LYPBL Champions.

Blue Division: Crossover Nets

The Crossover Nets were clearly the best team in the Blue Division all season. They finished on top of the standings with a regular season record of 5-1 and a total season record of 7-1.

Although, their Championship did not come easy. Their competition, Team Impact, gave them all they could handle. With being up by 15 points in the second half, their lead shrunk to 2 points late in the game as Impact went on a huge run. The eventual final score was 50-44 and the Nets were le by Miles Harvey with 18 points for the game.

Red Division: Rome Development

Rome Development finished a perfect 10-0 for the LPYBL Spring Season. In the Semi-Finals, Rome Development faced a tough Rome Hilltoppers team that gave them a very tough first 20 minutes with the score being 27-28 heading into halftime. That said, the Hilltoppers could not withstain the momentum- the final score ended with Rome Development winning by 18 points and advancing to play in the Championship. Rome Development met the NWGA Blue Devils in the Championship and handed them a 24 point defeat. Congrats to the Rome Development team for a perfect season and a LPYBL Championship!

Red Division: NWGA Blue Devils – Dynasty

This was the surprise of the  whole LPYBL Playoffs – the NWGA Blue Devils Dynasty who entered as a #4 seed and with a regular season record of 4-3 won the Championship with wins over both North Metro Elite 8th and 9th grade teams.
